The species found in the summer Station
10 plankton net tow had much diversity. Ceratium dinoflagellates were
common but there were also a few Coscinodiscus
diatoms and radiolaria. Also pressent wasProtoperidinium, a heterotrophic
dinoflagellate that gets energy by ingesting other organisms, not from sunlight.
