The summer plankton assemblage at Station
3 was mostly comprised of two species of Ceratium. A globular organism
-- possibly the marine amoebae called Foraminifera, which has a calcareous
shell -- was spotted. At lower left is an out-of-focus zooplankter, probably
a copepod.
