The spring Station 4 plankton net tow assemblage had a large variety of phytoplankton. It was dominated by the needle-like pennate diatom Rhizosolenia. Two species of Ceratium dinoflagellate were present. A fewCoscinodiscus diatoms and Thalassionema colonies were observed, as well.
