The plankton net tow at Station S2 was dominated by Coscinodiscus diatoms and two species of Ceratium (dinoflagellate). Other species of note: Copepods (zooplankton) and Radiolaria (amoebae that have symbiotic relationships with phytoplankton). The empty frustules (i.e., shells) of the zooplankton Tintinnid were also present. Links to FlowCAM images for Station S2 -- taken at 20 meters depth -- are at bottom right.
