prasiola

Prasiola spp. a tiny green algae is common to arctic and temperate climates in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems. In the marine ecosystem, it can be found in the Spray Zone and in the Upper Intertidal habitats. They can grow in great densities, as seen in this photograph, and are found on rocks where seabirds roost or nest.

Think about this...
Why would Prasiola be found on rocks where seabirds hang out? What is the relationship?
